In 2021 she graduated from the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus with a degree in Human Kinetics, majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She has been heavily involved in sport throughout her life, first as an athlete and then coaching softball and volleyball throughout university.
Following her undergraduate degree, she moved to Kingston and worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant in long-term care, which inspired her to go back to school and pursue physiotherapy. Sydney is a recent graduate from the Master’s of Physical Therapy program at the University of Toronto in 2024, and thrilled to be back in Kingston.
Despite being new to the field, Sydney has already taken additional training in posture & movement assessment, concussion assessment & treatment, and paediatric therapy. She has a special interest in sports injuries, paediatrics, and helping people achieve their optimal physical functioning – whatever that may look like for them. Sydney employs a client-centered approach to care, treating the body as a whole, and takes pride in her ability to easily connect with clients.

She also equally enjoys lounging at home with her rescue cat named “Beans” catching up on the latest reality tv drama. Jebakumar John
Registered Physiotherapist
With a passion to help people, I began my career as a social worker in India. I always had a keen
interest in the power of sport to bring people together, and often integrated sports into my social
work placements. For 6 years, I worked in a not-for-profit that rescued victims of modern-day
slavery from factories in India, and met my partner when she volunteered there. Since moving to
Canada in 2019, I had the opportunity to explore different roles, from working as a kitchen aid
on a cruise boat in Kingston to working in a call centre at Service Ontario guiding people with
disabilities to apply for benefits under ODSP.
Driven by a desire to be more active on the job and to help people through my interest in sports
and exercise, I chose to study physiotherapy at Queen’s University in 2022. I am excited to begin
my career at CS Physiotherapy, working along with an amazing team of rehabilitation
professionals and apply what I have learned in the past 2 years. I enjoy treating clients using
hands-on manual therapy and strengthening exercises. I am able to provide physiotherapy
services in English and Tamil.
My desire is to support people of all walks of life in the local Kingston community and to build
their strength to return to activities that they enjoy doing. As a new graduate, I am eager to learn
more about the latest techniques and interventions. I look forward to addressing the needs of
clients holistically. In my free time, you may find me playing beach volleyball, soccer, cricket, or
softball. One of these days, I may even convince my three-legged cat Cheeks to come with me
on a hike! And yes, I hate the winter cold. I look forward to meeting you as your Resident
Physiotherapist!
